Beliefs Statement of Rhema Word Ministries

Rhema Word Ministries is a Christ-centered church founded on biblical principles. The name Rhema (pronounced Ray-ma) is a Greek term that means “the revealed Word of God”—a divine utterance spoken to the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit. It is a living, active, and powerful Word that brings salvation, healing, deliverance, and victory. We believe God has given us this name to reflect our calling to boldly minister the uncompromised truth of His Kingdom.

What We Believe and Teach

* The Triune God: We believe in one God who exists in three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

* Jesus Christ: We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God and Savior of the world. (Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10)

* The Holy Scriptures: We believe the Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God, given for doctrine, instruction, and guidance in righteous living. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

* Salvation by Grace: We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation, which comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23)

* The Great Commission: We believe we are called to preach the Gospel locally and globally, making disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 15:16)

* The Five-Fold Ministry: We believe in the offices of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

* The Baptism of the Holy Spirit: We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as a gift and empowerment for service. (Acts 2)

* Spiritual Gifts: We believe in the diversity of spiritual gifts, operations, and administrations as described in Scripture. (1 Corinthians 12)

* Unity in Worship: We believe in the power of gathering in the name of Jesus, knowing that where two or three are gathered, He is in the midst. (Matthew 18:20)

* Liberty in the Spirit: We believe that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty—freedom to worship, grow, and live in the fullness of God’s purpose.

* Eternal Life: We believe in a literal Heaven, where the righteous will enjoy everlasting life in the presence of God.

* Final Judgment: We believe in a literal Hell, a place of eternal separation from God and punishment for the wicked.
